Common questions

The mirror is black or asks for the camera

Lumuna needs the camera to show makeup on your face. Open the Settings app, go to Privacy & Security → Camera, and turn on Lumuna.

I can't save photos to my library

Open the Settings app, go to Privacy & Security → Photos → Lumuna, and allow adding photos.

The makeup doesn't line up with my face

Face the camera in good, even light and keep your whole face in view. Turning on the face guide in Lumuna's Settings helps you line up.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens on your device. See our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my photos?

In Lumuna, open Settings and tap Delete all photos, or delete them one by one in your library. Copies saved to Photos stay there.

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026

Lumuna is made by Shallow Apps. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Lumuna app and this website. In short: Lumuna works entirely on your device, and we don't collect your data.

Camera

Lumuna uses your front camera to show makeup on your face in real time. Face tracking and makeup rendering happen on your device. Camera images are never uploaded, stored by us, or shared with anyone.

Face data

To place makeup, Lumuna finds points on your face, such as the outline of your lips and eyes, in each camera frame. This happens on your device, frame by frame, in memory only. Lumuna doesn't save these points, doesn't use them to identify you, and never sends them to us or anyone else. They are discarded as soon as the frame is drawn.

Photos

Photos you take are kept inside the app on your device. If you choose to save a photo, Lumuna asks for permission to add it to your photo library. Lumuna only adds photos; it does not read your existing library.

What we don't collect

Settings

Your preferences, such as timer sound or default intensity, are stored on your device only.

Deleting your data

You can delete all photos from Settings in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. Copies you saved to Photos stay there until you remove them.

Emailing us

If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you, and we don't share it.

Children

Lumuna doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

This website

This site doesn't use cookies or analytics. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
